On April 18, 2023 The Brampton Board of Trade’s held its second Energy and Environment Forum. The half-day forum covered topics from companies and organizations at a wide range of stages of development.

We began the morning with a keynote address from Ontario Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks David Piccini on the work the province is doing to support sustainability that fuels economic growth. Later in the day, Murat Basarir provided some perspective on the work that TD Bank is doing to push sustainability initiatives across their business.

Paul Grenier spoke to the success of Clorox in becoming a global leader in ESG initiatives, including the reporting practices they have used to gain recognition from internationally known benchmarks. On the heels of the City of Brampton’s recent launch of its micromobility project, Isaac Ransom of Neuron Mobility showed us one of their e-scooters and spoke to how the pilot initiative is aligned with sustainability objectives.

Attendees also heard from emerging leaders in green growth, as Raphael Kolenko from Carbon Cap Inc and Baraa Fattal from Ecosystem informatics spoke to their novel technologies that have been developed through the Brampton start-up ecosystem and are in the process of being deployed to the market. Peter Love, Board Chair for the newly formed Centre for Community Energy Transformation, shared the City of Brampton’s work to be a part of the climate solution.

It was exciting and energizing to hear from entrepreneurs and representatives of established corporations across multiple sectors who are all working towards one goal – innovation that helps solve pressing environment challenges while fueling jobs and growth, right here in Brampton.

On April 21, 2022 The Brampton Board of Trade’s held its first ever Energy and Environment Forum. The objective of the Forum is to inform and engage with the Brampton Business Community on current energy and environmental initiatives and provide tools that can improve and challenge one’s business to improve their carbon footprint, be greener, attain ESG objectives, save money, be more productive.

Prospering on the way to NetZero
MPP David Piccini, Ontario Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks and Marion Organ, Director of Sustainability and Environment at Coca-Cola Canada Bottling were our keynote speakers.

We then heard from a panel of experts in the Sustainability and ESG industry to learn what they are working on and how they are setting their organization up for sustainable success in the future.
