On November 17th Brampton Board of Trade members gathered in-person at the Meadowvale Cemetery event space for our 2022 Annual General Meeting. It was terrific to fulfill the hope from our virtual 2021 AGM that we would safely gather in person for this year’s event.
We were pleased to have around 75 participants join us to welcome the incoming Chair and Board of Directors while recognizing the great service of those departing the Board. Our 2023 Chair Daniel Lewis joined us virtually from London, England – not a surprising destination for Brampton’s most successful tea entrepreneur! Daniel focused on the year ahead and the work that we will do as an organization to continue to collaborate with and create opportunity for Brampton’s business community.
Outgoing Chair Donna Fagon-Pascal spoke of the past year’s successes, including navigating a return to in-person programming that has seen new and improved versions of signature events such as the Business Excellence Awards as well as inaugural programming including our first ever Energy & Environment Forum.
Recently re-elected Mayor Patrick Brown was on hand to give remarks from the city that touched on the importance of the Board of Trade as an institution that pushes for progress on files that are of importance to our business community. Mayor Brown also administered the oath of the office to the incoming Board of Directors.
