Minister Alghabra Talks Supply Chain, Infrastructure at BBOT

Last week, the Brampton Board of Trade hosted federal Minister of Transport Omar Alghabra for a conversation on the government’s 2023 budget and other topical issues related to supply chain and local infrastructure priorities.

Minister Alghabra spoke about the important role for Brampton businesses in supporting resilient supply chains and fueling greater regional and national growth. Board of Trade representatives, including Chair-elect Lou Vouloukos, outlined some of the local priorities that are most urgent to our members, including a federal commitment to the Main Street LRT Extension, additional measures to bring Two-Way All Day GO closer to reality and the expeditious approval of the GTA West Corridor (Highway 413).

Board of Trade members enjoyed the opportunity to share their own feedback and suggestions with Minister Alghabra, and we look forward to continued engagement on these files through our work on the Halton Peel Supply Chain Council and local advocacy on the LRT Extension and other projects. Thanks to Lou Vouloukos of Lawrence, Lawrence, Stevenson and John Cruickshank of triOS College for their roles in facilitating the discussion.
