Bramalea City Centre (BCC) is located in the heart of Brampton and has been an Important part of the Brampton community for over 40 years. Built in 1973 the shopping centre has undergone continual transformation as it grows and changes with the needs of the Brampton Community. In 2004, $160 million was invested to renovate and reenergize the centre with additional renovations in 2005 and 2006. In 2010 BCC underwent a significant expansion that saw the mall grow to over 1.5 million square feet. Today, BCC boasts a diverse mix of over 300 stores and services that attract more than 16 million visitors a year.
BCC’s best practises in sustainability and community initiatives have had a positive impact on the community. Honoured with prestigious awards and accomplishments including BOMA Best, Platinum, BOMA Toronto Earth Awards. In 2015, BCC made history when it became the first shopping centre in the world to receive the inaugural BOMA International Toby Award, distinguishing the centre as an industry leader.
One of the biggest community outreach programs to launch was “beyou” in partnership with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada. The campaign supported youth in Brampton through a series of events to help promote self esteem and confidence in youth. BCC is proud to support over 40 charitable and non-profit organizations including the offering of “Visits with Santa” Program which involves coordinating Santa visits for children at Brampton Civic Hospital Pediatric Unit during the holiday season.
BCC’s continued success is its ability to evolve with the changing needs of the community. The shopping centre continues to attract exciting new retailers and service providers that keep the centre relevant, successful and a destination for the people in the community. BCC is a community hub where people can come together to eat, work, shop and play.
