On September 22nd Board of Trade members and future members joined us at the inaugural Eggs & Advocacy event – a quarterly series of informal networking breakfasts centred around a mutual interest in politics and policy. We were joined by a number of candidates for regional and city council.
Our CEO Todd Letts led a focused discussion on the major issues that will be at stake in the upcoming municipal election. Participants discussed the pathway to prosperity and how the city can be a constructive partner, including by moving forward progress on key issues such as the Main St LRT Extension, development at Heritage Heights and an expansion of the post-secondary options available in Brampton.
Those running for office offered diverse views on the best plan for the city, and Board of Trade members in attendance were happy to engage constructive and share their feedback. We look forward to the next Eggs & Advocacy in the winter months, when hopefully we’ll be joined by members of the newly elected 2022-26 council!
